Governed by a Board of Trustees and a Fiscal Officer, elected by local residents, Liberty Township prioritizes transparency and open communication. Regular meetings are held to discuss township affairs, and community members are encouraged to engage and share their input.

Meeting Information

The Liberty Township Trustees hold their regular monthly meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Meetings are located at 8019 New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon.

  • Zoning Commission Meetings: First and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM — Reviews zoning amendments, development plans, and township-wide zoning recommendations.

  • Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) Meetings: Meet as needed or for variance requests — Hears variance requests, conditional use permits, and appeals of zoning decisions.

  • Special Meetings: Scheduled as needed — Used to address time-sensitive matters that cannot wait until the next regular meeting.

  • Public Hearings: Held when required — Provide an opportunity for public input on specific issues such as zoning changes, budget approvals, or other township matters.

Road Closure

Friday June 20, 2025 : Liberty Chapel Road (North) will be closed from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM for the road crew to berm the the road.
